Our story
At Greenwave Fight Sports, we believe jiu-jitsu is more than just a sport, it’s a vehicle for transformation. Every day, we help people build discipline, resilience, and confidence through Jiu-jitsu & Muay Thai, shaping stronger individuals and a more connected community.
Founded in 2025 in Fallon, Nevada, Greenwave Fight Sports was created to bring high-level grappling and Bang Muay Thai to our community. Since then, we’ve helped hundreds of men, women, and children grow through Jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai on and off the mats while pursuing progress, discipline, and getting better every single day.
What is Jiu-jitsu and Submission Grappling
Jiu-jitsu and submission grappling are martial arts built around control, leverage, and real resistance. Instead of trading strikes or practicing choreographed moves, students learn how to take an opponent down, control them on the ground, and finish the fight with joint locks and chokes safely, and with technique doing the heavy lifting.
Jiu-Jitsu focuses on ground fighting and problem-solving under pressure. Submission grappling blends jiu-jitsu with wrestling, judo, and other grappling styles, often without the gi and with a heavier emphasis on live training. That means you’re learning what actually works against someone who’s actively trying to stop you, not a cooperative partner holding a pose.
It’s tough. It’s humbling. It’s addictive.
Jiu-jitsu and submission grappling are for people who want real skill, real conditioning, and real confidence earned the hard way. If you’re looking for flashy moves and point fighting, this probably isn’t it. If you want to learn how to handle pressure and stay dangerous when things get uncomfortable, you’re in the right place.
What is Bang Muay Thai?
Bang Muay Thai is a complete striking system built from the traditions of Muay Thai and the pressure-tested combinations and footwork of Dutch kickboxing.
Muay Thai is known as the “Art of Eight Limbs” because it teaches fighters to effectively use punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. It also places a strong emphasis on balance, timing, clinch fighting, defense, and controlling an opponent at close range. Students learn how to strike from every range while developing the ability to stay composed and effective under pressure.
Dutch kickboxing brings a fast, aggressive boxing influence to the striking game. It emphasizes strong combinations, powerful low kicks, forward pressure, angles, defensive movement, and the ability to put punches and kicks together seamlessly. Rather than throwing isolated techniques, students learn to attack in combinations and create openings through movement and pressure.
The Bang Muay Thai system combines these concepts into a practical, structured approach to striking. Students develop strong fundamentals, efficient combinations, powerful kicks, knees and elbows, defensive skills, footwork, and controlled sparring.
At Greenwave Fight Sports, the goal isn't simply to learn how to throw punches and kicks. It's to develop timing, distance, balance, conditioning, confidence, and the ability to apply your skills against a resisting opponent.
Whether you're training for fitness, self-defense, competition, or simply want to learn a legitimate combat sport, Bang Muay Thai gives you a structured path to become a more capable striker.
